Dollhouse

In my semestral work on the topic of dollhouses, I was assigned to draw inspiration from the architect Mies van der Rohe. I worked with two of his buildings - Barcelona Pavilion and Farnsworth House created in 1929 and 1945 respectively.

Key concepts I used for my dollhouse were Rohe’s most significant features - interconnecting the interior with the exterior and clear acknowledgment of technical parts, such as columns or supporting structures.

When playing with a seemingly simple kit, it is possible to recreate Rohe's aforementioned specific buildings or to involve your own invention and construct completely new buildings according to old principles.
